As an anesthesiologist, my first responsibility is patient safety. I spend every day telling patients to stop taking certain supplements before surgery because what they take matters.
But nutrition matters, too. We have to consider both what could cause harm and what could actually help patients prepare, heal, and recover.
That’s why I take perioperative nutrition so seriously—and why I built GLOWWELL Surgical Readiness.

We prioritize human research and distinguish evidence from surgical populations from broader nutrition research.

We assess every ingredient for:
